Colostrum is the first milk that is produced by a mother's body. This first milk is thick and full of antibodies and protein; it supports your baby's digestion and more. Your body has only a few teaspoons of colostrum per day, and after a few days, your body will start producing what is known as transitional milk as your baby's stomach grows and can absorb more milk. Once home, the change in atmosphere can also interfere with the baby's feeding. The Thomspon Method teaches a breastfeeding certification course you may want when you start breastfeeding.
